Decor Ideas and Tips: Spruce up your dresser by painting the knobs

We found a really good deal on this dresser at the AAFES (military) furniture store.
Although it was not my favorite dresser it provided lots of storage and a good balance between the more feminine pieces of furniture already in our bedroom. To spruce it up I decided to just change the simple silver knobs it came with.
After looking around the internet and local stores for the perfect knob without any luck, I decided to just spray paint the ones I had! I know easy right? why didn't I think of it before buying and trying like 7 knobs! you decorate and you learn, my friends ^_^
To make these I first spray painted the knob with emerald green paint. Let them dry overnight, and the next day used painters tape to create a pattern. I choose a simple stripe pattern. (A little tip, when you apply the tape make sure it is really tight against the knob as it may smear.. Although, I did double check that the tape was tight, I still ended up with a few a few smears, so just triple check yours ^_^) Then, I spray painted the stripes color gold and let it dry overnight and the next morning I had my beautiful new knobs.

It's a subtle change but definitely a good one!  I believe it is all in the details!
AND I just love how it goes with our emerald green night stands.

Would you try this decor tip? Do tell!!
